The "Kaparot" ritual !
You swing a live chicken over the head of a "sinner" and the chicken is supposed to suck up all the sins committed by the sinner since the previous Kaparot, one year before !
Oh yeah . . . of course you must recite verses from the Thora while at it !
Otherwise the chicken won't suck up your sins !
After the ritual . . . you just kill the chicken and cook it !
Just how stupid can one get ?
